We're called BrainDead (named after a song by Assorted Jellybeans) and exist since 2001. We're a 3-piece Skacore Band from Hamburg, Germany (all members currently 27 years old). Our influences are lots of Punk/Hardcore and Skapunk Bands. We've played around 150 shows, including four full tours, in the whole of Europe (Ireland, England, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Czech Republic, Hungary and of course Germany). Our live sets range from powerful and fast Hardcore-Punk to extensisve live Dubbing, with a central focus on Skacore-styled songs. Most of our lyrics deal with social problems. We're not just complaining in our songs, but see ourselves as activists as well and for example put up shows and benefit partys in a squat Squat in Hamburg. So far, we've released a couple of EP's and Demo CDs on our own, as well as a self-released Album in 2004 and one Split CD with Civil War from Holland on Crash Landing Records in 2006. The record is gonna be released by dirty faces from germany, mass prod from france, rumblefish from russia, pumpkin rec from England and 5 feet under from denmark both on CD and Vinyl. We've recorded the songs for the record entitled "Weapons Of The Weak" at the Tonmeisterei Studios in Oldenburg. The record is named after the book written by James C. Scott. The basic tracks were recorded live in the studio, further overdubs and vocals were laid down in our living rooms and rehearsal room. As in all earlier recordings, we did the mixing by ourselves. The Dub songs have been recorded on a 16-track tape machine song. The cover artwork was done by Jesse Michaels from Classics of Love/Common Rider/Operation Ivy.
