CREW is a ska band formed in 95 in the
Paris area, the name comes from 8°6 beer ! From
95 to 98, they played some punk and ska,
then only ska and reggae with the brass section. 8°6 became a 9
or 10 musicians band. After
15 concerts in 2002, time for holidays... for a long time…End
of the short story of the band ? Not
really , because i n 2008 the crew come back on stage, festival in l'Usine
in Genova, festivals in France "Aux Ponts du Rock" (Malestroit
2009), "Andel'Ir" (Andel 2010), etc...; write new songs and
at the end of 2010 come out the album "OLD REGGAE FRIENDS"
, twelve new songs and two dubs, a very well produced album.
Last
album "WORKING CLASS REGGAE" was out in 2017 on CD (Grover,
Mass Prod and Do or Die) and Vinyl (Grover and UVPR)
In october 2008, they record in 15 days the first album in Mad Butcher
Records studios in Germany , called "Bad, Bad Reggae" and
out in february 99 on CD and vinyl.
A lot of gigs in 99 but a very calm year in 2000.
8°6 Crew sign with Big 8 Records and record 4 songs in 2001, out
on CD 6 tracks (including 2 dubs) called "Menil Express".
The great title "Marseille" will appear later on the very
well distributed various artists "It’s Frenchy Ska Reggae
Party 3".
Big 8 Records then repressed the first album "Bad Bad Reggae".
